My Instructional Design Process

Initial Design

I created a Leadership Framework for myself to assist in defining the type of Leader I wanted to be and how my strategy aligned with the organization.

From there, I began coaching my team on how to create their own Leadership Framework. Even if they were not in an official Leadership role, they were still able to benefit from getting clear on their goals and whether their career plans still aligned with the organization.

The initial design of this project took form via outline. I used those coaching sessions as a point of reference to create a self-paced course that allows staff to move at their own pace while creating something that is personal to them. 

Storyboarding

After I created the outline, I created a written storyboard to outline each learning module. This storyboard captured the learning objectives, content blocks, and interaction strategy for keeping learners engaged in the course. 

Development

With all the modules and lessons outlined, I moved to Articulate Rise, where I put all the course materials together. I curated additional content to help reinforce the why behind developing a Leadership Framework.
